Plants and rocks are far from the only things you can find in and around the city. These buggers are big, ominous beasts that start to watch you the moment the sun's done setting. Their milky-white eyes practically glow in the dark, and their blue-gray plumage glitters silver in the moonlight. Heather's said they look like spirits of the night. I just wish they'd stop lookin' at us.
They look haunted, but I'll be honest: aside from all the staring, most of them just leave you alone. I said most, and the reason for that is just how big these things can get. Most of the ones in the city and outskirts are pretty big for birds, like just bigger than your average housecat. But we've seen a couple that have gotten much bigger. One in particular guards the library in the city, keeping us from taking any books not from the discard shelves. I might draw that one if we can figure out a name for it, it's monstrous when put next to its kin...
The creatures themselves don't usually help nor harm us, and even the big one tries its best to be more of a wall than a cop. Their feathers, however, are amazing. The bigger ones can and do sell for a surprising amount, and we've even had a customer bring one back to show us the quill they made out of it.
Silly guys! It's rude to stare, though...
