Heather mentioned when I started writing this that I should write out notes on everything in the city that you can't really find anywhere else. Just in case we want something cool to talk about to our kids when we eventually get those.
Naturally, the thought of having kids scares the shit outta me. And naturally, I think about my wife when something scares the shit outta me. So I'm drawing my wife in all her sunshiney glory. Take that for scaring a 23-year-old lady with the thought of kids, my dear Heather.
Anyway, time to actually write. Stuff. Hoo boy, where do I begin. There's her smile, the really bright one that really makes you think she's an angel sent down or something. And her laugh, too. I drew her laughing, actually, even if I can't quite capture how vibrant she really is when she's that happy. Her nose scrunches up too when she laughs like that, so much so that I sometimes worry if it hurts. She's assured me that it doesn't, and that even if it did it would be worth it to see me join her in the joy.
She likes to cook, and thank goodness for that cause I'm pretty damn sure I've burnt water once. She's always picking up new recipes, whether it be from neighbors, patrons of the shop, or even from the city. Speaking of the city... That's Heather's other favorite hobby. Exploring a place that no human has any business entering anymore, that's what she considers a perfect passtime. Dragging me along for the ride...
As if I'd let her go alone. As much as I'd rather leave the city locked shut for good, it makes her happy to get to explore it, and I'm staying with her. Besides, the weird shit we find there pays the bills, and the stuff doesn't LOOK haunted to me.
Aww, I look so cute! Thank you so much, Roxy! -H
We're gonna be staying in this town for a while yet, no matter what it throws at us.
