It's kind of fascinating how much of a difference there is between the city's ambiance and other abandoned places. If you were to explore a ghost town somewhere else, most of the sounds would come from the surrounding woods, or perhaps from the creak of the wood and squeak of the vermin. Out here, however, the air is filled with the sound of chimes.

We find them growing from the trees, usually willows but the chime shards don't actually seem too picky otherwise. They appear to be made of crystalized sap similar to amber, but we've seen them in a rainbow of colors, with cooler colors being more common from the willows and warmer colors from anywhere else. They always grow from the trees, hanging down from little cracks in the branches. It's a little unsettling if you look too closely into it, but they're at least pretty.

The crystals have hollow cavities with a strand of sap inside, which is what gives them their distinctive chiming sound. We usually either sell them on their own or make little sets of chimes from them. Heather really likes the sound, so we have quite a few in the yard.

At night, I think I recognize the song the wind makes the chimes play! I want to record it for Roxy or Holly to listen to...
